Description:
Provides critical care for patients in an intensive care unit.
Manages patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure.
Administers medications and therapies as prescribed.
Monitors vital signs and performs assessments.
Maintains and manages arterial lines and central lines.
Provides care for ventilated patients.
Conducts interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs).
Implements isolation precautions and uses personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
Participates in interdisciplinary support services.
Assists with special procedures such as CT tube insertion and drainage.
Engages in targeted temperature management for acute stroke patients.
Demonstrates skills in interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias.
Collaborates with various teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
Provides emotional support and comfort care for end-of-life patients.
Ensures compliance with safety and quality standards of care.
Maintains effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
