Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
Role Overview: Provides anesthesia care in the Operating Room to support surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of an anesthesiologist. Responsible for preoperative evaluation, postoperative follow-up, and acting as a patient advocate, liaison, and confidant for patients, families, and physicians.
Key Responsibilities
• Anesthetizes patients, selecting appropriate drugs and managing anesthesia induction and maintenance.
• Monitors patient status, responds to emergencies, and adjusts medications to ensure stability.
• Communicates patient condition with surgical team and interprets hemodynamic data.
• Performs thorough preoperative evaluations and organizes OR setup.
• Coordinates with staff to ensure patient safety, proper positioning, and equipment readiness.
• Provides anesthesia support, charts accurately, and ensures safe patient transport.
• Acts as a mentor and preceptor to peers, staff, residents, students, and nurses.
Qualifications & Skills: Master's Degree in Nursing required, with expertise in anesthesia care, patient monitoring, and equipment management. Strong communication and collaborative skills are essential.
Work Environment: Primarily clinical, with potential travel, and adherence to organizational policies. The role emphasizes safety, excellence, and continuous learning in patient care.
