CT Technologist - Per Diem
Role Overview: Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently conduct or assist with CT and molecular imaging, ensuring accurate data acquisition for diagnosis and intervention.
Key Responsibilities
• Obtain correct orders, verify patient identity, and prepare them for exams while maintaining confidentiality.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to ensure patient safety.
• Prepare and administer medications through vascular access as prescribed.
• Evaluate image quality, verify data storage/transfer, and perform post-processing if needed.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
• Assist licensed practitioners with interventional CT procedures and perform prescribed imaging.
Qualifications & Skills
• Certification by ARRT or NMTCB required upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to starting.
• For hires after a specified date, advanced certification must be achieved within 24 months.
• Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Work Environment & Expectations: Primarily performed in clinical settings, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Additional department-specific skills are essential for success.
