Radiology Technologist Mammography - Per Diem
Role: Mammography Technologists perform breast imaging procedures, including mammographic and sonographic imaging, to assist in diagnosis and research. They independently conduct or support imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and proper data acquisition.
Responsibilities
• Obtain correct patient identification, prepare patients, and verify clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
• Use appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to ensure safety.
• Prepare, administer, and document medications and radiation exposure as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
• Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and proper data storage or transfer.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
• Perform breast ultrasound, imaging of pathological specimens, and clinical breast examinations.
• Maintain proficiency in routine and complex duties, participate in quality improvement activities, and demonstrate commitment to organizational priorities.
Work typically occurs in a clinical setting, with adherence to organizational policies and procedures. The role requires completion of a specialized radiologic technology training program, with a preference for a related bachelor’s degree.
