Library Operations Manager
Albright College is seeking a full-time, 10-to-12-month Library Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the College's new library building. This position will play an important role in establishing practices and procedures for the new space and creating a welcoming, student-centered environment that supports teaching, learning, collaboration, and campus engagement.
Key Responsibilities • Manage the daily operations and logistical needs of the library building.
• Supervise, train, and schedule staff, including student workers.
• Develop and implement operational practices, procedures, and workflows for the new library space.
• Coordinate programming and events for classes, students, faculty, staff, and the broader campus community.
• Conduct outreach to students, faculty, and staff to promote use of the library and its programs, services, and spaces.
• Collaborate with faculty and campus departments to support academic programming and effective use of the facility.
• Oversee room usage, scheduling, supplies, equipment, and other operational needs.
• Help ensure that the library is a welcoming, accessible, organized, and responsive environment.
• Identify and address facilities and operational concerns in coordination with appropriate College departments.
• Perform other duties related to the successful operation and programming of the library.
Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to day-to-day operational needs.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and colleagues across an organization.
• Ability to take initiative, solve problems, establish effective practices, and adapt to the evolving needs of a new facility.
• Commitment to providing excellent service and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for a diverse campus community.
• Proficiency with common workplace technology and the ability to learn library, scheduling, event-management, and other relevant systems.
Preferred Qualifications • Experience developing programs, events, or educational activities for students or other audiences.
• Familiarity with contemporary academic libraries, student learning spaces, or campus programming.
