Tax Manager - Corporate
We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager - Corporate to oversee complex tax matters for a privately held organization based in the Reading, Pennsylvania area. This position plays a key role in guiding partnership tax activities, advising on technical issues, and supporting business decisions with sound tax analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in partnership taxation, compliance, planning, audit support, and tax accounting within public accounting or a large multinational setting.
Responsibilities:
• Direct partnership tax reporting activities, including return preparation oversight, allocation approaches, partner communications, and coordination with outside tax advisors.
• Act as the internal resource for partnership tax matters by providing technical guidance to business and finance stakeholders.
• Analyze intricate federal and state tax questions, document conclusions, and present practical recommendations to support informed decision-making.
• Develop and advance tax planning opportunities that improve the organization’s overall tax efficiency and cash tax position.
• Assess the tax consequences of transactions, entity structure adjustments, and new legislative or regulatory developments.
• Manage tax examinations and controversy matters by organizing responses, defending positions, and tracking critical filing and statute deadlines.
• Work closely with Finance and cross-functional teams to assist with tax forecasting and evaluate the tax impact of operational initiatives.
• Support tax accounting activities, including ASC 740 provision assistance and review of tax-related general ledger balances and reconciliations.
• Contribute to special projects and strategic tax initiatives while identifying ways to streamline processes and improve workflow effectiveness.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation is required.
• At least 5 years of income tax experience gained in public accounting, a large multinational organization, or a combination of both.
• Demonstrated depth in complex partnership taxation and partnership tax return matters.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state income tax compliance, tax research, planning, audits, and controversy support.
• Experience assisting with tax accounting activities, including annual income tax provision work.
• Big 4 background is strongly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.
