Role Description The Admission Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Reading, PA. This position is responsible for engaging prospective students and their support networks through campus visits, events, phone, email, and virtual communication, providing accurate information about academic programs, campus life, financial aid, and the application process. The Admission Counselor reviews applications, evaluates academic credentials, and contributes to admission decisions in alignment with institutional guidelines. The role includes travel to high schools, college fairs, and community events to represent Albright College and build relationships with counselors, educators, and community partners. The Admission Counselor also collaborates with colleagues on recruitment strategies, data tracking, and outreach initiatives to meet enrollment goals while promoting the college’s mission of access, diversity, and student success.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated skills in student advising, relationship building, and customer service, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication abilities, including public speaking, interpersonal communication, and professional writing for email and outreach materials.
• Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects, events, and application reviews in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort with technology and data, including use of CRM or admission systems, standard office software, and virtual meeting platforms.
• Ability to collaborate within a team, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality in handling student information.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; experience in admissions, higher education, counseling, or a related field is preferred.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends and to travel for recruitment events as needed.
