Description
Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst supports the Fleet Services Operating Tax Team by providing analytical reporting of data and research supporting Penske and affiliates operating tax responsibilities in areas such as sales, use, property, excise, value added, fuel & mileage, and heavy vehicle use taxes across U.S. and Canadian operations. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Major Responsibilities:
Query, analyze, and interpret transactional data to support tax policy, audits, compliance risks, and other operational impacts
Maintain the design, development, implementation, and improvements to databases and data access methodologies to ensure maximum efficiencies
Provide analytical support for tax engine configuration, testing, and troubleshooting
Support audit processes
Manage data requests supporting customer analytics
Manage multiple projects simultaneously involving multiple cross-functional teams.
Analyze and prioritize project activities to establish realistic deadlines
Support departmental improvement projects, including tax exposure mitigation
Assist with customer support and cross-functional communication
Other projects and tasks assigned by management

Qualifications
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field requiredMinimum 2 years of financial analytics or tax analytics experience required2 years of business, operational, or compliance experience preferredStrong analytical and independent problem-solving skills requiredExcellent oral and written communication skills requiredData mining and reporting tool experience (Crystal, SQL, Business Objects, etc.) preferredProficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel are required; Power Point, and Access preferredRegular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the jobWillingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening are required Physical Requirements:• The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
