The Soldering Technician is responsible for performing high-quality hand soldering and assembly of electronic components to support the production of reliable, customer-ready electronic assemblies. This role plays an important part in delivering quality products, supporting the success of the team, and taking ownership in the work we do for our customers and each other. Primary Responsibilities Hand Soldering & Assembly: Perform hand soldering of through-hole components in accordance with work instructions, IPC standards, and quality requirements. Install components, wires, connectors, and hardware accurately and efficiently. Rework and repair assemblies as required, ensuring proper solder joints and component integrity. Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of material (BOMs). Use proper soldering techniques to prevent damage to components and circuit boards. Quality & Inspection: Inspect solder joints and assemblies to ensure compliance with IPC standards and internal quality requirements. Identify and communicate defects, discrepancies, or concerns to supervisor or quality team members. Support first-pass yield and quality goals through attention to detail and consistency. Follow ESD, safety, and quality procedures at all times. Production Support & Team Collaboration: Support production schedules by completing work accurately and on time. Communicate job status, challenges, or improvement opportunities to team members and leadership. Assist with other assembly or production tasks as needed to support production goals. Contribute ideas for process improvements and quality enhancements. Workspace Organization & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Properly handle tools, soldering equipment, and materials. Follow procedures for material handling, labeling, and moving completed assemblies to the next operation. Key Requirements Willingness to learn and continuously improve soldering and assembly skills. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and workmanship. Ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Consistent and reliable attendance. Ability to follow work instructions, procedures, and quality standards precisely. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand motions. Applicants will be required to pass a soldering test during the interview process. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Hand soldering experience required (IPC experience a plus, but not required). Basic computer skills.
