Backhaul Specialist CF Logistics, located in Blandon PA has an immediate opening for a Blackhaul Specialist. This position must be proficient in a variety of information systems; will require timely and professional communication and decision-making skills. The position represents the company in a positive image with employees, customers and the community always performing in a safe and ethical manner Oversees the planning and coordination of the backhaul process, ensuring thorough review of backhaul information. Maintains direct communication with drivers, dispatch, and supervision to promptly address and resolve any issues, making necessary adjustments to maintain efficient operations Acts as the company liaison for truckload shippers and external brokers to procure freight and optimize empty freight lanes. Negotiates contractual arrangements with external shippers. Responsible for logging, scheduling, and sending all billing information for processing to ensure maximum profitability. Responsibilities and Expectations: Procures backhaul arrangements through customer contractual agreements and daily spot boards to minimize fleet empty miles. Effectively manages major customer accounts, fostering sustainable relationships. Plans and coordinates backhauls, pickups, and appointment schedules to optimize capacity and maximize revenue, while coordinating with dispatch for private fleet routing. Maintains daily communication with transportation supervision and routers to ensure efficient backhaul operations. Schedules private fleet backhaul pickups to minimize driver downtime and ensure compliance with DOT regulations. Communicates promptly with buyers and the traffic manager regarding on-time deliveries and backhaul issues. Resolves driver issues through daily communication. Communicates daily with drivers that are experiencing problems and resolve their issues. Evaluate costs of laying over/ delaying drivers when needed by determining importance of load. Responsible for submitting all freight transactions in dispatch system in addition to ensuring billing (TMS). Bills all detention and accessorial charges for backhaul freight. Logs detentions within transportation systems. Performs additional tasks as necessary. Qualifications: Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in Logistic load planning or related field. Strong analytical and technical skills using computer applications. Working experience with Transportation Management Systems, ELD’s, SAP (or equivalent EMS). Must have good communication and organizational skills. Skilled in varied problem-solving with demonstrated Influence and patience. Inbound logistics experience beneficial and a working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations. Bilingual a plus. Able to work flexible schedule if needed.
