The Hawk Mountain Council of Scouting America is seeking a dynamic and community-focused Outreach Executive to expand youth and family engagement opportunities throughout the city of Reading. This full-time position focuses on relationship-building, neighborhood outreach, and developing accessible programming that supports youth development, leadership, and family involvement. This is a highly people-centered role. The ideal candidate thrives in the community, enjoys building partnerships, and is energized by creating programs that positively impact youth and families. Rather than working primarily behind a desk, you will spend significant time connecting with local organizations, families, schools, faith communities, and neighborhood leaders to grow Scouting programs in underserved and underrepresented communities. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, churches, nonprofits, community centers, and civic organizations throughout Reading. Coordinate and support neighborhood-based youth programming, including Saturday and weekend experiences focused on teamwork, leadership, outdoor skills, STEM, service, and character development. Support and strengthen existing outreach programs already operating within the community. Recruit, engage, and support volunteers, parents, and community leaders to help sustain locally driven programs. Work collaboratively with Council leadership and staff to ensure programs are safe, inclusive, impactful, and aligned with Scouting America standards. Assist with program promotion, family engagement efforts, and community outreach initiatives. Maintain strong relationships with youth-serving organizations and community stakeholders. Serve as a visible and positive representative of Scouting America within the community. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal) strongly preferred. Experience in community outreach, youth development, education, nonprofit programming, social services, or related fields preferred. Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills. Self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment. Passion for serving youth and families from diverse backgrounds. Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and proof of insurance required. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support community programming and events. Compensation & Benefits Compensation Starting salary range: $50,000–$55,000 annually Candidates fluent in Spanish and English may qualify for compensation at the higher end of the salary range.
