RESPONSIBILITIES May teach multiple subject areas. Maintain student confidentiality per agency policy. FERPA/HIPAA privacy rule regulations and student confidentiality. Monitor student progress through tracking and assessing student development, making necessary adjustments to keep them on the path to success. Responsible for managing challenging behaviors and implementing behavior support plans when needed. Work closely with paraprofessionals, support staff, and parents to build a supportive, inclusive learning environment. Advocate for students ensuring compliance with educational laws and advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities. Create a positive and engaging learning space where every student feels supported and can thrive. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in special education, education, or a related field from an accredited institution. Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with students, parents, and staff. Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team. Passion for Special Education, demonstrated by patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students with special needs succeed. WORK SKILLS Ability to respond to crisis interventions and use approved Safe Crisis Management techniques as required.
