Family Services has a full-time position available for a highly self-motivated individual who can function effectively in a team environment. You will have the opportunity to use your communication, engagement, and organizational skills serving as a Community Mobilizer in Pottstown. We are looking for a person who possesses leadership skills as well as the ability to assist school and community-based stakeholders to develop and implement programmatic and environmental strategies designed to reduce youth alcohol and drug use. The Community Mobilizer is a full-time position with responsibilities that include: Arrange and conduct community meetings and educational sessions with community stakeholders for purposes of community awareness, drug prevention information dissemination, engagement in coalition efforts. Identify key leaders and stakeholders to serve as Coalition Board Design and implementation of advocacy and education efforts regarding key issues related to drug and alcohol prevention Collaborate with school districts and community members as they develop implementation plans and identify strategies to support prevention efforts Coordinate regularly scheduled board and subcommittee meetings, including attendance at meetings, phone contacts, mailing, etc. Coordinate completion of a Community Risk and Resource Assessment Provide leadership in planning and coordinating community events to promote strong families, strong communities, and coalition goals Assist prevention board, key leaders, and lead agency with public relations and marketing activities Work as a team member within the schools, community, and county in an effort to accomplish goals and objectives of all invested parties This position is primarily daytime hours with occasional attendance at evening meetings/events required. A bachelor’s degree in community organizing, public health, social work, or related field is preferred. Candidates must possess basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and Google Suite). Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance as these are necessary to meet the job requirements.
