POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-oriented Field Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), as well as expertise in implementing, configuring, and supporting company products at customer sites. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting/repair, and providing on-site training to customers to ensure the smooth operation of our products. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Software Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and validate company products at customer sites. Ensure products are correctly integrated into the customers existing laboratory or diagnostic workflows. Modify and adjust software settings as necessary to meet specific customer requirements. System Integration & Troubleshooting: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate company products with laboratory systems, diagnostic devices, and other third-party software solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues related to product implementation, data flow, and system performance. Provide technical support for connectivity between LIS, diagnostic equipment, and databases. Customer Support & Training: Deliver on-site training and support to customers to ensure they are proficient in using company products and software. Act as a liaison between the customer and internal teams, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues. Document and report all service activities, customer feedback, and product improvements. Product Customization & Testing: Support the customization of software to meet the specific needs of individual laboratories and diagnostic environments. Conduct system tests to verify proper function and performance of the software in live environments. Collaborate with product development teams to identify and resolve software bugs or limitations. On-Site Support and Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance and routine check-ups on company products to ensure system reliability and uptime. Offer on-site troubleshooting/repair and resolution of any technical issues that may arise during or after product installation. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate service records, including installation details, software configurations, troubleshooting logs, and service reports. Provide feedback to engineering and product management teams on software performance and customer-specific requirements. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all installations and service work meet company standards, industry regulations, and compliance requirements. Adhere to health and safety protocols during field service activities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience in implementing and integrating products in a clinical, diagnostic, or laboratory setting. Understands LIS and HIS data. Hands-on experience with diagnostic equipment, laboratory software, or automation systems is a plus. Familiarity with systems integration, networking protocols, and data management within a laboratory or healthcare environment. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of LIS software logic, workflows, and data flow. Knowledge of laboratory systems, diagnostic platforms, and industry-specific software tools. Familiarity with data integrity and security protocols in clinical and laboratory environments. Proficiency in troubleshooting software and hardware issues in complex systems. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service orientation and the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
