Business Development Manager
Help Shape the Next Chapter of a Firm That's Been Shaping Berks County for over a century!
Business Development Manager
Wyomissing, PA
Full Time
Hybrid Remote/In-Office
Muhlenberg Greene Architects is looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to build the pipeline that fuels our next era of growth.
This isn't a seat where you'll be handed a script and a stack of RFPs. You'll be an architect of our growth strategy — working directly with firm principals and consultants to decide the opportunities we chase, which relationships we deepen, and the key projects that will define our portfolio for the next decade.
(No recruiter solicitations please)
WHY WE NEED YOU
MG Architects has built its reputation over 100-plus years the old-fashioned way: on relationships, on public-sector trust, and on institutional clients who come back project after project. We're growing — and we need someone who can turn that reputation into a repeatable, proactive business development engine. Instead of relying on word-of-mouth and RFP responses alone, this is your chance to build that engine.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
o Develop and execute strategic business development initiatives in prioritized market sectors alongside firm leadership and consultants.
o Research and qualify prospective leads and opportunities.
o Run a lead-generation and follow-up program to prioritize and capture new clients.
o Initiate contact with prospective client executives and facilitate introduction meetings.
o Manage the client and sales pipeline; prepare marketing, sales, and forecast reports.
o Maintain the business development database and track opportunities through our CRM.
PROPOSALS, QUALIFICATION AND PRESENTATION MANAGEMENT
o Analyze requests for proposals/qualifications, lead strategy sessions, and develop key themes for company pursuits.
o Lead the assembly, writing, layout, and design of customized, aesthetically compelling RFQ/RFP responses.
o Develop, update, and curate marketing and proposal assets, including firm profiles, project cut sheets and photography, staff resumes, and technical proposal masters.
o Identify opportunities and manage submissions for industry awards.
MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA
o Co-manage the MG website, print and social media content as liaison to our marketing consultants.
o Direct staff contributions for social media and web content.
o Manage brochures, swag, and advertising campaigns.
WHAT MAKES YOU THE RIGHT FIT
o You're outgoing and creative, with a knack for building relationships that last.
o You write and speak with clarity and confidence.
o You're experienced in writing AEC industry proposals and know how to coordinate a winning response.
o You're fluent in Deltek Vantagepoint or a comparable CRM/BD platform.
o You've got an eye for design — Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.
o You know the local and regional architecture, development, and construction market (preferred).
HOW WE MEASURE SUCCESS
o New clients and contracts won in our priority market sectors.
o A stronger firm presence — more projects, bigger average fees, growing reach.
o A faster, sharper proposal process..
o Real year-over-year growth in firm revenue.
o Firm projects earning recognition in publications and design awards.
o A project pipeline that keeps growing.
WHAT YOU’LL GET
o A direct line to firm leadership and real influence over strategic direction — this role reports directly to the Principals.
o A firm with deep institutional credibility and a strong regional reputation to build on, not a blank slate.
o Competitive compensation and benefits with performance-based bonuses.
o Flexible hours and remote access capability to suit the demands of this position.
o The chance to build a business development function largely from the ground up — shape the role as much as fill it.
