Job Description
We are seeking an early-career Mechanical Design & Field Engineer to support equipment design, inspection activities, equipment refurbishment projects, and technical training initiatives in a highly regulated industrial environment. This role combines engineering design responsibilities with significant hands-on field work. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians and technical leaders while gaining exposure to inspection technologies, equipment maintenance, and engineering oversight activities.
During the first year, this individual will rotate through multiple operational teams to gain broad exposure to inspection processes, field activities, equipment applications, and customer environments. This role has an excellent opportunity for growth and is a good place for a new engineer to position themselves for a successful career.
Key Responsibilities
• Travel to customer sites to support project execution and collaborate with operations personnel.
• Rotate through multiple crews to gain hands-on experience with inspection technologies and plant operations.
• Support field inspections, maintenance activities, and operation of remote inspection equipment.
• Design and support plant equipment, components, fixtures, and specialty covers using CAD software.
• Assist with equipment refurbishment, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with technical training, eddy current, SSI, closure, and other inspection-related activities.
• Progress into engineering representative responsibilities, providing technical oversight of field activities.
Compensation will be between $70,000-$80,000 which is determined by overall qualifications, experience, and skills brought to the table. Expensing and Per Diem will be provided per travel standards and guidelines.
