Production Manager – Manufacturing Operations
Location: Horseheads, NY
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Pay: $75,000–$85,000/year (DOE)
Nesco Resource is hiring a Production Manager for a manufacturing facility in Horseheads, NY. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily production operations, driving performance, and developing a strong team culture.
Responsibilities:
•
Lead daily manufacturing operations (safety, quality, production, delivery)
•
Manage production schedules, staffing, and workforce planning
•
Supervise and develop production supervisors and staff
•
Track KPIs and production performance; take corrective action as needed
•
Support hiring, training, coaching, and employee development
•
Drive continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and 5S initiatives
•
Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and other teams
•
Reduce scrap, downtime, and inefficiencies through data-driven improvements
•
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards
Qualifications:
•
Manufacturing leadership experience required
•
Strong knowledge of production operations and scheduling
•
Experience managing teams and improving performance
•
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
•
Lean/continuous improvement experience preferred
•
ERP or production software experience a plus
•
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Preferred:
•
Automotive, metalworking, machining, or similar manufacturing background
•
ISO environment experience
•
Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen experience
Physical Requirements:
•
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
•
Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
•
Wear required PPE
