Role Description
The Special Assets Manager is responsible for the management, resolution, and recovery of the Bank’s classified, delinquent, and non-performing assets. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for developing and executing strategies that minimize loss, protect collateral, and ensure timely resolution of problem credits.
In addition, this position oversees the integrity and compliance of loan documentation practices, ensuring lending records are accurate, complete, and aligned with regulatory requirements. This role requires strong credit judgment, sound decision-making ability, and effective collaboration with senior management, legal counsel, and lending teams.
The primary focus of this position is the management and resolution of problem assets, with loan documentation oversight serving as a supporting responsibility.
Requirements
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience in special assets, loan workouts, or credit risk management
• Experience managing classified assets, non-accrual loans, and OREO
Knowledge & Skills
• Strong knowledge of commercial, consumer, and real estate lending
• Experience with loan restructuring, collections, and recovery strategies
• Working knowledge of foreclosure, bankruptcy, and legal recovery processes
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to Bank systems

Salary Range: $60,000 to $105,000
