Senior Software Engineer
Our client, a global leader in transportation and logistics technology, is expanding its enterprise application development team to support strategic technology initiatives. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep Java expertise who is interested in growing into an Application Architect role while remaining hands-on with development.

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and support scalable enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Remain hands-on with development while contributing to application architecture and technical design.
• Build and optimize complex SQL queries and database solutions supporting enterprise applications.
• Apply software design patterns and engineering best practices to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in application design discussions and influence technical decisions across multiple initiatives.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
• Support Agile development activities including sprint planning, code reviews, testing, and release management.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes, cloud initiatives, and modern application development practices.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership across the development team.
• Support initiatives involving data analytics, business intelligence, and emerging AI/ML technologies.
Requirements
• 8–10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on Java development experience.
• Extensive experience building applications using Spring Boot.
• Advanced SQL development experience.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and enterprise application architecture.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and production support experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Ability to work onsite two days per week in either Reading, PA or Tampa, FL.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with OpenShift or containerized application platforms.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Cloud experience with AWS or Azure.
• Full-stack development experience.
• Technical leadership or lead developer experience.
• Exposure to data analytics, business intelligence, or AI/ML initiatives.
• Interest in progressing into an Application Architect career path while remaining an active software engineer.
