Bartender Reports To: Clubhouse Manager Supervises: None Position Summary The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service while creating a welcoming and memorable experience for members and their guests. This position prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Club standards while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism, hospitality, product knowledge, and operational excellence. The Bartender is expected to uphold the Club's service culture and represent the Club with integrity and enthusiasm. QualificationsEducation & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum two (2) years of bartending experience in a private club, fine dining restaurant, luxury hotel, resort, or upscale hospitality environment preferred. Previous country club experience strongly preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age or meet all state legal requirements for alcohol service. Experience with POS systems (Jonas Encore or similar preferred). Previous banquet and event bartending experience preferred. Learn and recognize members by name whenever possible. Build relationships while providing personalized service. Create an engaging and memorable bar experience. Resolve service concerns professionally and notify management when appropriate. Thank members and guests sincerely and invite them to return. Beverage Service Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Club recipes and service standards. Execute proper wine presentation and wine service. Recommend wines, cocktails and premium spirits to enhance the dining experience. Maintain consistency in drink quality and presentation. Ensure all beverages are served at proper temperature with appropriate glassware and garnish. Demonstrate responsible alcohol service and confidently refuse service when necessary. Club Operations Complete opening and closing side work according to Club standards. Prepare garnishes, juices, syrups and batch recipes as required. Maintain adequate inventory throughout service. Assist with monthly beverage inventory as assigned. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bar areas. Ensure proper rotation and storage of all products. Report equipment malfunctions immediately. Banquets & Club Events Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) prior to events. Set up and break down banquet bars. Execute banquet beverage service according to event specifications. Work weddings, golf tournaments, member events and Club functions with professionalism. Collaborate with banquet captains, servers and culinary staff to ensure seamless event execution. Dining Room Support Prepare beverages for dining room servers promptly. Deliver beverages directly to dining room tables when needed. Assist with food service during peak periods. Take tables and provide full dining service when requested by management. Support all Food & Beverage outlets as business needs require. Safety & Sanitation Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary work environment. Comply with all health department regulations. Follow food safety procedures including labeling, dating and rotation. Maintain clean equipment, glassware and bar tools. Follow emergency procedures and Club safety protocols. Team Responsibilities Attend daily line-ups. Participate in ongoing beverage education and Club training. Assist in training new bartenders and servers when assigned. Support fellow team members during busy service periods. Maintain a positive, respectful and team-oriented attitude. Knowledge & Skills The Bartender should possess knowledge of: Wine service and presentation Premium spirits Classic and craft cocktails Beer styles and draft systems Food and wine pairing principles POS systems Responsible alcohol service Private club etiquette Banquet service Luxury hospitality standards Beverage inventory procedures Opening and closing procedures Certifications Required: Pennsylvania RAMP Certification (within 30 days of hire) Responsible Alcohol Service Certification Preferred: ServSafe Food Handler Certification ServSafe Alcohol Certification WSET Level 1 or Level 2 Court of Master Sommeliers Introductory Certificate or equivalent wine education Physical Requirements The employee must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours). Lift and carry up to 40 pounds safely. Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach and twist. Push and pull beverage carts, kegs and equipment. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Perform repetitive motions including pouring, shaking and carrying trays. Work evenings, weekends, holidays and special events as required.
