Reports to: Plant Manager Starting date - Mid august Mission: The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting products, conducting audits, acting on non-conformities, and implementing processes to prevent them from recurring. This role is currently hybrid — the selected candidate will also support the Production Supervisor with production tracking in NetSuite, ensuring the line is stocked and running smoothly, and assisting on the finishing line as needed. The role is set to grow into a full-time quality position within 6 to 12 months with the addition of a second production line. Responsabilities Perform regular quality audits on in-process production and finished products. Perform first article inspections (FAI) on new production runs and after setup changes to validate conformity before full production proceeds. Inspect incoming raw materials. Use measurement instruments (calipers, scale, etc.) to validate tolerances and dimensions against technical drawings. Evaluate returns and determine disposition (scrap or repair). Document inspection results in detailed reports. Identify non-conformities and take ownership of them — quarantine non-conforming materials, document issues, and notify the supervisor and production teams. Promote and enforce quality procedures and standards across the shop floor. Partner with cross-functional departments to analyze root causes, follow up on corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and continuously improve quality resolution processes. Monitor non-conformity metrics and propose data-driven solutions to improve them. Operations Support Assist on the finishing line as needed (serves as an opportunity to develop deep product knowledge). Support the Production Supervisor with production flow — staging materials and parts on the line and tracking production in NetSuite. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications College diploma in a relevant technical field or equivalent hands-on experience in a manufacturing quality role. 2 to 3 years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing, with at least 1 year in a quality-focused role. Experience working within an ISO environment is a major asset. Technical Skills Advanced blueprint reading skills, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and welding symbols. Strong proficiency in metrology, utilizing tools such as go/no-go gauges, calipers, and tape measures. Ability to navigate, extract data, and take measurements using CAD software (Solid Edge preferred). Other Requirements Able to stand for long periods of time and lift 40 lbs. Able to travel to Canada for training purposes (infrequent). This position requires a background check as part of our supply chain security program.
