Role Summary As a Lead Technician, you will service, troubleshoot, and repair residential solar PV systems, including battery storage and EV charging equipment. You will diagnose electrical issues, perform maintenance and repairs, and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently in compliance with electrical codes. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair electrical issues in residential solar PV systems (wiring, inverters, panels, monitoring systems) Service and maintain solar components including modules, inverters, junction boxes, and disconnects Troubleshoot and repair battery storage systems and EV chargers Identify system performance issues and electrical faults Perform electrical testing and diagnostics (voltage, continuity, insulation resistance) Complete preventative maintenance to improve system reliability Repair or replace damaged wiring and system components Install basic protective upgrades (critters, sealants, flashing) as needed Document service work using mobile tools and apps Communicate with homeowners regarding service and repairs Follow NEC and all safety standards Maintain clean and stocked company vehicle Support field/install teams when needed Train and mentor junior team members Requirements Minimum 5 years of solar experience Minimum 2 years of solar electrical experience Experience with Tesla battery systems and energy storage Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems Ability to troubleshoot and repair residential electrical systems Familiarity with NEC code requirements Previous experience leading or mentoring a team Ability to prioritize work and support field operations Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work on roofs, ladders, attics, and in confined spaces Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Ability to use mobile devices for documentation Valid driver's license required Must pass a background check and drug screening Perks & Benefits 15 days PTO + paid holidays Maternity and parental leave Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid training and professional development
