The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: ATP 3,500 TT 1500 PIC 500 jet - Citation CE-680 type preferred, but not required King Air experience preferred, but not required 1st class medical Must reside within an hour of Lynchburg, VA Must be eligible to work in the United States Part 135 and 91 operations experience preferred Salary DOE. Freedom Aviation is an Equal Opportunity Employer Summary The captain (PIC) is responsible for the safe conduct of flights during all stages of preflight, taxi, flight and post-flight to which they are assigned while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local and foreign regulations, as well as the policies and procedures specified in the Freedom Aviation operations manual. When assigned to a flight, the captain has the final authority in the operation of the aircraft. The captain reports to the Chief Pilot and the Director of Operations. Essential Functions Ensure that the aircraft logbook is checked before and completed after the flight, noting and/or resolving any discrepancies that have not been cleared before or occurred during the flight Coordinate with the Director of Operations and the Chief Pilot to ensure the crew is current, qualified, and has had the proper crew rest to complete the required flight Coordinate with the Director of Maintenance to ensure the aircraft is airworthy and in accordance with CFR 14, Part 135 Review all weather and NOTAMS for the flight and ensure they meet the requirements of 14 CFR Part 135 or Part 91 and company Operations Specifications Determine fuel requirements for scheduled trips and advise the Charter Coordinator of such requirements, and complete a company-approved weight and balance form for each leg of flight prior to departure, ensuring one copy is on the aircraft and a second copy is given to the Charter Coordinator Ensure all trip expenses are noted and/or attached to trip sheet and all flight times and other appropriate fields are filled out; completed trip sheets should be delivered to Charter Coordinator upon trip’s conclusion Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must hold an airline transport pilot (ATP) certificate with appropriate type ratings Must have adequate flight time in type, as determined by the Director of Operations and the Chief Pilot Must possess a First Class Medical Must be able to pass an instrument competency check in the category of aircraft to be flown Meet any other criteria as determined by the Director of Operations and the Chief Pilot Freedom Aviation is committed to equal opportunity employment.
