Mapping Technician
Overview
Brooksource is seeking a Mapping Technician to support Distribution operations and Engineering Services for a leading electric utility company. This role is responsible for entering and maintaining critical updates within Environmental Systems Research Institute's (ESRI) ArcGIS software, the company's Geographic Information System (GIS) application, while leveraging AutoCAD expertise to support related mapping projects and tasks.
This is an on-site position located at the company's office in Reading, PA. This role is ideal for detail-oriented individuals who enjoy technical, judgment-based work and are looking to build a long-term career supporting utility operations.
Responsibilities
• Demonstrate a solid commitment to all aspects of safety
• Document entries in ESRI's ArcGIS software, exercising a moderate degree of individual judgment
• Perform mathematical calculations for problem solving
• Analyze work requests, drawings, and maps; compile, post, and record various types of data across ArcGIS and other computer systems
• Update and maintain compliant records to support technical reports, metrics, and information systems
• Provide ongoing assistance during emergencies and storm-related activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience
• High School diploma or equivalent, with completed coursework in Algebra and Geometry demonstrated on resume, required
• Completion of a college-level AutoCAD course required
• Ability to pass the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Technician Occupations Selection System (TECH) employment test
• Basic knowledge of electric theory
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Willingness to seek guidance and advice to fill gaps in understanding
Work Environment
• On-site position located at the company's Reading, PA office
• Bargaining unit (union-represented) role
• May provide support during storm and other emergency response activities

PAY DISCLAIMER
The hourly pay range for this position is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific requirements of the role. Final rate will be discussed during the interview process.
