Role Description This is a full-time, on-site MD or DO position based in Reading, PA. The physician will provide direct patient care, including performing histories and physicals, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, prescribing medications, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests. Daily responsibilities include preventive care visits, chronic disease management, minor office procedures within scope of practice, and coordination of care with specialists and ancillary services. The role involves documenting care in the electronic health record, reviewing lab and imaging results, and ensuring appropriate follow-up. The physician will participate in patient education, collaborate with clinical and administrative staff, and contribute to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a closely related primary care specialty.
• Board certification or board eligibility in the relevant specialty.
• Current, unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Strong clinical skills in primary care, including management of common acute and chronic conditions across diverse patient populations.
• Ability to provide patient-centered care, including clear communication, shared decision-making, and culturally sensitive interactions.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and accurate, timely clinical documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and maintain professional relationships with staff and patients.
• Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and adherence to evidence-based guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• CPR/BLS certification; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Prior experience in an outpatient family medicine or primary care setting is preferred but not required for highly qualified candidates.
