Role Description The Branch Manager, MEPF Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sarasota, FL. This role is responsible for leading branch operations while overseeing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) engineering projects. Day-to-day tasks include managing project schedules and budgets, coordinating with architects, property managers, and owners, and directing engineering design activities for building systems. The Branch Manager will supervise and mentor team members, review and approve technical documents and designs, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. The role also involves business development, client relationship management, and supporting strategic planning to grow the branch and maintain high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering, including design of building systems and coordination with architectural and structural disciplines.
• Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and contract administration for multiple concurrent projects.
• Leadership and people management abilities, including mentoring staff, managing performance, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive team environment.
• Client-facing skills, such as clear communication, relationship building, negotiation, and the ability to translate technical concepts into accessible language for stakeholders.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools) and familiarity with applicable building codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field; professional licensure (PE) in Florida or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe preferred.
• Experience managing a branch or department in a consulting engineering or related environment, including business development and proposal preparation.
• Ability to work on-site in Sarasota, FL, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and ethical professional practice.
