Technical Account Manager – Industrial Manufacturing
Location: Pottstown, PA (On-Site)
Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 Base Salary + Uncapped Commission
Our client is seeking a Sales Account Manager to support the growth of engineered product sales within a technical customer base. This role is focused on expanding relationships with existing accounts, identifying additional sales opportunities, managing customer projects, and supporting the full sales cycle from initial inquiry through fulfillment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities:
• Manage incoming sales inquiries, quote requests, and customer opportunities
• Develop additional sales opportunities within existing customer accounts
• Follow up on leads and identify appropriate product applications based on customer needs
• Support projects from initial specification through delivery and customer fulfillment
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through responsive communication and technical support
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution
• Utilize technical knowledge to recommend engineered solutions
• Assist with customer problem-solving and application development
Qualifications:
• Experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or a customer-facing role within a manufacturing/industrial environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand technical products and applications
• Experience or familiarity with pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, fittings, or related industrial equipment is a plus
• Ability to interpret blueprints and understand mechanical piping concepts
• Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and follow through from start to finish
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Customer-focused mindset with a results-oriented approach
Preferred Qualifications:
• Internship or prior work experience in a manufacturing environment
• Plumbing, HVAC, industrial equipment, or related industry experience
• Experience managing customer accounts and growing existing business
• Mid-level or managerial experience is welcomed
