Role Description The Pelvic Floor Therapist will provide evidence-based evaluation and treatment for patients with pelvic health conditions, including pelvic pain, incontinence, post-surgical rehabilitation, and related musculoskeletal and neurological issues. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, documenting care in accordance with clinic and regulatory standards, and collaborating with referring providers and the interdisciplinary team. The therapist will educate patients on pelvic floor function, self-management strategies, and prevention, while promoting overall functional mobility and quality of life. Additional responsibilities may include participation in community outreach, internal education, and contribution to program development for pelvic health services. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Athens, GA.
Qualifications
• Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia (or eligibility to obtain), with completion of relevant pelvic health or pelvic floor rehabilitation coursework or certifications.
• Clinical skills in pelvic floor assessment and treatment, including internal and external examination techniques, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, and patient education.
• Experience or strong interest in treating pelvic pain, incontinence, post-partum and post-surgical conditions, and related orthopedic or neurological diagnoses.
• Ability to conduct thorough evaluations, create clear, goal-oriented plans of care, and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation using electronic medical records.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build therapeutic relationships, collaborate with physicians and other providers, and educate patients and families in an understandable and respectful manner.
• Commitment to patient-centered, whole-body care and comfort working with individuals of diverse backgrounds, ages, and gender identities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced outpatient setting, demonstrating professional judgment, reliability, and ethical practice.
• Preferred: Experience in outpatient private practice, balance or vestibular rehabilitation, orthopedics, or women’s and men’s health; familiarity with practice growth initiatives and community outreach.
