Job Overview: The Kitchen Manager oversees the daily operation of the pool café kitchen, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality food in a safe, clean, and efficient environment. This role is responsible for food preparation, inventory management, menu execution, and supporting resident events and catered functions. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and capable of delivering exceptional food and service within a non-traditional kitchen setting while fostering memorable experiences for residents and guests. Essential Duties: · Manage the daily operations of the pool café kitchen and food preparation areas. · Prepare and oversee the production of menu items using approved equipment and established recipes. · Develop creative menu offerings and specials appropriate for a resort-style pool café environment. · Plan, prepare, and execute food service for resident events and buffet-style functions serving groups of up to 200 guests. · Ensure food quality, presentation, consistency, and portion control standards are maintained. · Monitor inventory levels, place orders, receive deliveries, and maintain proper product rotation and storage. · Manage food costs and minimize waste. · Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. · Establish and maintain cleaning schedules for kitchen equipment, storage areas, and workspaces. · Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability. · Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to support special events and create exceptional experiences for residents and guests. · Ensure adequate staffing and preparation during peak seasons and special events. · Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. · Perform additional duties as assigned. Education/Experience : · Minimum of 3 years of culinary, catering, banquet, or food service management experience. · Previous experience in hospitality, country club, resort, café, or event environments preferred. · Experience planning and executing buffet and catered events for large groups. · Demonstrated creativity and flexibility in menu development and food preparation. · Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. · Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations; ServSafe certification preferred. · Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. · Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed. Physical Demands : · Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. · Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. · Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and tolerate heat and humidity. · Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions required in food preparation and kitchen operations. Environment/Noise : This position requires standing for long periods, working near hot surfaces and kitchen equipment, and performing repetitive tasks in a busy restaurant environment. Certificates/Licenses : · Food Handler Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
