What You’ll Do
As a Kitchen Staff/Cook , you will:
• Assist in preparing food for meals to clients and staff of CHOR during assigned meal service shifts.
• Assist in preparing food items for special events and setting up the food items for those events as assigned.
• Clean dining areas, food preparation areas and food service areas.
• Operate the dish machine and wash dishes during assigned meal service shifts.
• Assist in trash removal and cardboard removal to the appropriate dumpsters and place items inside the dumpsters.
• Assist in recipe usage, recipe formulation and the use of the correct products for the meal service.
• Assist in counting the eligible clients for NSLP reimbursement using the correct method of monitoring and recording.
• Assist in completing all NSLP production sheets, temperature sheets, cleaning schedules, and any other required paperwork during assigned meal service shifts.
• Follow all food safety and HACCP related procedures during food preparation, food service, and food storage and clean up during assigned meal service shifts.
• Assist in completing stock work, inventory storage and rotation duties, and item inventory recording as requested by the Food Service Supervisor.
• Maintain good morale among co-workers by being an active team member.
• Maintain a neat, clean appearance at all times, using proper hygiene practices and wearing appropriate clothing.
• Participate in staff trainings/meetings as scheduled by CHOR.
• Perform Food Service Duties as may be assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor.
Performs other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:
• High School diploma or G.E.D. (preferred)
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Cooking/food prep experience in restaurant, hospital, or school setting.
• Must be willing to work Flexible Hours and Available as scheduled and in Multiple Locations. Must have reliable transportation.
• Must demonstrate basic communication skills- verbal, reading and writing.
• Must be able to read, speak, and write in English.
Additional Requirements: The candidate must pass required Criminal Record History Clearance, FBI and Child Abuse History Clearance. Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
The candidate must pass a Physical & Drug Screening & possess the ability to attend and successfully complete all required trainings.
• Drug screening does include testing for THC levels.
Schedule
• Full-Time
• Shift: 11:30am-7:30pm (position varies, some weekends as needed)
