Position Overview
Our client, a leading nonprofit human services organization, is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across residential and community-based programs throughout Pennsylvania.
This is a primarily remote position with regular travel to program locations across the state. The Registered Dietitian will provide nutritional assessments, develop individualized nutrition plans, support interdisciplinary care teams, and serve as a clinical resource for individuals with complex medical and nutritional needs.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting individuals with IDD , as well as expertise in dysphagia management, texture-modified diets (IDDSI), enteral nutrition, and medically complex populations .
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans.
• Evaluate and monitor individuals with complex medical conditions, dysphagia, weight management concerns, and specialized dietary needs.
• Develop and oversee therapeutic diets, including texture-modified diets and nutritional supplementation recommendations.
• Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologists, nursing, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to support safe swallowing and appropriate nutritional interventions.
• Review physician orders and ensure nutrition recommendations are implemented appropriately across residential programs.
• Provide education and training to nursing and residential staff on therapeutic diets, dysphagia precautions, food safety, and nutrition best practices.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and person-centered planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
• Travel throughout Pennsylvania to residential and community-based programs as needed.
Qualifications
Required
• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential.
• Pennsylvania licensure (or eligibility).
• Minimum of two years of clinical nutrition experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Pennsylvania.
Preferred
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
• Experience with dysphagia management, IDDSI standards, and texture-modified diets.
• Experience in residential services, behavioral health, rehabilitation, long-term care, or community-based healthcare.
• Knowledge of enteral nutrition and medically complex populations.
