RN Nurse Residency Preceptor
Seeking an experienced Preceptor RN for a Nurse Residency Unit in Athens, GA.
Qualifications
This role involves providing high-quality nursing care in a state-of-the-art 20-bed unit serving 7 med/surg units, onboarding new graduate nurses through dedicated mentorship, and supporting their transition to practice. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within organizational policies, ensuring standards of practice and coordinating staff activities. Qualifications include:
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Bachelor's preferred)
• Current Georgia RN licensure or multistate license
• BCLS certification; additional specialty certifications as applicable
• Preferred hospital nursing experience
• Ability to demonstrate professional growth and accountability
Key duties: delivering comprehensive nursing care, supporting new nurses' development, maintaining practice standards, and functioning within organizational policies. Additional certification requirements vary by specialty area, such as ACLS, PALS, or chemotherapy certification, with some certifications needed within six months of employment.
