Kozloff Stoudt Attorneys, a well-established and growing law firm serving Pennsylvania for more than 90 years, is seeking a motivated attorney to join our Municipal & School Law practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys serving as a trusted advisor to public entities and working on a broad range of legal matters that directly impact local governments, school districts, and the communities they serve.
Responsibilities
• Advise municipalities, school districts, municipal authorities, and other public entities on a wide variety of legal matters.
• Attend evening meetings of governing bodies, boards, and commissions as needed.
• Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, policies, contracts, and intergovernmental agreements.
• Provide guidance regarding the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act, Right-to-Know Law, ethics requirements, and public governance.
• Represent clients in administrative proceedings, litigation, and appellate matters as appropriate.
• Advise clients on employment and labor issues, procurement, real estate transactions, zoning and land use, and general municipal operations.
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions, memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while providing practical, responsive legal counsel.
Qualifications
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania or eligible for admission.
• Experience in municipal law, school law, labor and employment, litigation, or related practice areas preferred.
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional client service.
• Willingness to attend evening municipal and school board meetings as required.
