Quality Control Analyst – Chemistry/Raw Materials Testing (Early Career)
Location: Myerstown, PA (onsite)
Type: Contract – $26–$31/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
About the Role
Our client, a global consumer health and pharmaceutical manufacturer, is seeking a Quality Control Analyst to join their Quality Assurance team supporting over-the-counter pharmaceutical testing. This role performs quality control testing on in-process and finished packaged goods, and supports the stability testing program to ensure products meet shelf-life specifications. You'll join a fast-paced, collaborative team supporting a lean manufacturing operation with a focus on finished goods testing.
Responsibilities
• Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on in-process products, raw materials, and finished pharmaceutical preparations using approved testing procedures (USP, NF standards)
• Utilize standard bench chemistry techniques and instrumentation, including HPLC, spectrophotometer, and viscometer
• Maintain accurate analysis records and proper documentation on laboratory forms
• Evaluate analytical data; consult with supervisor and recommend additional testing when discrepancies arise
• Perform routine testing on in-process, finished bulk, and stability products to confirm compliance with company and compendia standards
• Adhere to corporate and plant safety programs, GMP, and ISO standards
• Assist with non-compliance investigations and troubleshooting of analytical methods/instrumentation
• Support special assignments as directed by supervisor
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required
• At least 1 year of lab experience outside of degree coursework, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
• Working knowledge of statistics, data processing, and good manufacturing practices
• Practical understanding of analytical chemistry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and computer skills
• Experience with wet analytical methods and instrumentation (HPLC, UV, GC, IR, AA) preferred
Preferred
• Understanding of NF, USP, and EP testing procedures and familiarity with the US pharmaceutical industry
