Construction Project Manager
Project Manager — Electrical & Mechanical (Contract)
Location: Onsite - Lehigh Valley, PA
Type: Contract | 40+ hours/week
Experience: 8–10 years in life sciences construction/capital projects
The Role
We're seeking a turnkey Electrical & Mechanical Project Manager to support a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing greenfield project. This role is scoped to grow: the right candidate will transition into a Construction Manager position, taking broader ownership of site execution as the project progresses.
You'll own E&M scope end-to-end, from drawing review through field execution - working at the intersection of design firms, contractors, and site leadership.
Responsibilities
• Manage electrical and mechanical project scope on a turnkey basis, from design coordination through installation and turnover
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals; identify constructability issues and drive resolution
• Own project scheduling - develop, maintain, and enforce schedules across E&M trades; identify critical path risks early
• Manage project budgets, including forecasting, change order review, and cost tracking against baseline
• Serve as primary coordination point with design/engineering firms - manage RFIs, design changes, and drawing revisions
• Interface daily with contractors, trade partners, and site stakeholders
• Progress into Construction Manager responsibilities: broader site oversight, multi-trade coordination, and field execution leadership
Qualifications
• 8-10 years of project management experience in life sciences construction (pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotech facilities, or GMP capital projects)
• Strong electrical and mechanical systems background - able to read, challenge, and coordinate E&M drawings and design packages
• Demonstrated ownership of scheduling and budgeting on large capital projects
• Experience coordinating directly with A&E/design firms on active construction
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, onsite field environment; full-time presence at the Lehigh Valley site required
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered
