We’re partnering with an industry-leading organization at the forefront of metallurgy, materials science, and advanced manufacturing to hire a Principal Metallurgist – Technology .

What You’ll Do
As a Principal Metallurgist, you’ll serve as a technical leader and strategic problem-solver , supporting both internal teams and external customers.
• Lead complex metallurgical investigations , including non-conforming material (RMRs, claims, off-spec product)
• Drive alloy and process development initiatives , from concept through production
• Manage and lead cross-functional project teams , ensuring delivery on scope, budget, and timelines
• Apply statistical methods, DOE, SPC, and Six Sigma tools to improve performance and eliminate inefficiencies
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members
• Partner directly with customers—providing training, education, and technical guidance
• Identify and communicate technical risks, business trends, and innovation opportunities
• Support continuous improvement and operational excellence across manufacturing processes
What You Bring
• 8+ years of experience in metallurgical or materials engineering environments
• Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, materials science, or related field
• Strong expertise in metallurgical principles, production processes, and failure analysis
Preferred:
• Proven experience with alloy development, process optimization, and manufacturing support
• Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis, Six Sigma, BPI, and experimental design
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and mentor technical teams
• Strong understanding of industrial equipment, materials performance, and emerging technologies
• Exceptional communication skills with a customer-first mindset
• Ability to anticipate technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions
