Position Summary: Position entails someone with a strong work ethic, a professional appearance and demeanor, and a good overall knowledge of all trades—including, but not limited to Carpentry, Painting and minor Plumbing and Electrical. Safely, accurately and efficiently maintain Smooth-On grounds and landscaping. This individual will be tasked with interacting with all Smooth-On departments and regularly interact with residential neighbors. In result, the individual must possess strong interpersonal skills. Start times may vary based on season and/or weather and occasional overtime may be mandated. Essential Job Functions: Wide range of skills in repair and maintenance work. Ability to perform minor electrical and plumbing. Ability to work on multiple activities and projects simultaneously. Work with all employees, customers and vendors in a civil, professional and respectful manner at all times – verbally, non-verbally and in writing. Lawn, tree, & shrub maintenance. Mows and trims all lawn areas. Handle snow and debris removal. Support the maintenance department with special projects. Work safely and take action to ensure that the property is safe for co-workers, customers and visitors. Keeps all related equipment clean, maintained and stored properly. Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Keeps equipment storage room neat, clean and organized. Keeps the entire property free of litter. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Previous experience in landscaping with the ability to follow directions and complete tasks on schedule. Must possess strong customer service and verbal communication skills. Safely operate grounds equipment such as tractor, zero turn mower, and plow truck. Operate a computer and assigned software and office equipment. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Work independently and meet schedules and timelines. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Ability to handle stress. Company Policies and Additional Requirements: 1. Must show up for work on time and be willing to work occasional overtime as required (with adequate notice from management). 8. Demonstrate reliable attendance, limited lateness or call outs. 9. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. 10. Willingness to learn other jobs. 11. Perform other job related duties or responsibilities when requested or required whether or not specifically mentioned in job description. 12. Willing to work with others in a team environment. Experience and Education: Five (5) years successful experience in carpentry/construction preferred. High School Diploma or GED. Previous experience in landscaping/grounds and/or equipment maintenance in keeping with the ability to follow direction and complete tasks on schedule. Moderate understanding of operating a computer.
