Posting Number 2016410T Department Summary This position resides within the Russ College of Engineering and Technology Dean’s office and reports to the Associate Dean for Industry Partnerships and Outreach. The office operates a strong industry partnership program with the goal of establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial partnerships between the university and industry. Industry partnerships strengthen the educational and research skills of students by providing application-oriented experiential learning. Industry benefits by accessing top-tier engineering talent from one of the oldest public institutions, and one of the newest R1 research universities in the country. Position Profile Oversees designated research program, center, or facility and related activities. Manages assigned budget and/or financial responsibilities for program. Evaluates program and provides strategic recommendations for change as needed. Represents program to internal and external contacts. Collaborates with University schools, departments, units regarding program. May be responsible for staff management, compliance monitoring, and writing/reviewing research protocols. Level Summary Provides professional expertise to the University community. Serves as a resource and guide to others in the department and/or university. Completes operational tasks essential for the daily functioning of the University. Additionally, contributes to larger projects or initiatives that align with department or University goals, often collaborating across teams. Minimum Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3-5 years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience. Healthcare professionals must hold, or be eligible for, appropriate licensure as required by position. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Engineering Management, Higher Education Administration, or a related field Experience managing federally or industry-funded grants, particularly in STEM education, workforce development, or advanced manufacturing Demonstrated experience in project management across multi-institutional or cross-sector partnerships, including coordination with academic, industry, and government stakeholders Familiarity with the semiconductor industry, advanced manufacturing, or engineering education ecosystems Proven ability to develop, write, and secure external funding (grants, contracts, or philanthropic support) Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting, including tracking outcomes tied to grant deliverables and performance metrics Strong background in budget tracking and financial oversight for sponsored projects Experience working within a higher education environment, particularly with units such as enrollment management, financial aid, institutional research, and communications Demonstrated ability to build and sustain partnerships with industry, government agencies, and educational institutions Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing formal reports, presentations, and stakeholder communications Experience organizing and managing workshops, events, or outreach initiatives involving multiple stakeholders Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, externally funded program Proficiency with project management tools and platforms Experience facilitating collaboration among diverse teams with varying perspectives and expertise Willingness and ability to travel regionally to support partner engagement and program activities Department Engineering and Technology, Dean's Office Pay Rate Commensurate with experience and credentials.
