Polysomnographic TechnologistJob Overview Respiratory Specialists is seeking a dedicated and skilled Polysomnographic Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will play a vital part in diagnosing and managing sleep disorders through the performance of comprehensive sleep studies. Utilizing your expertise in sleep medicine, physiology, and respiratory therapy, you will collect and monitor critical diagnostic data while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the testing process. Responsibilities Prepare patients for sleep studies by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and conducting physical assessments as needed. Monitor patients throughout sleep studies, recording vital signs, respiratory patterns, brain activity (EEG), eye movements (EOG), muscle activity (EMG), and other physiological data. Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot polysomnography equipment to ensure accurate and high-quality data collection. Analyze physiological signals in real time and identify abnormalities requiring intervention or technical adjustments. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient interactions, study results, and technical observations in compliance with healthcare standards. Collaborate with physicians and sleep specialists to support diagnosis and treatment planning. Adhere to all safety, infection control, and equipment handling protocols. Experience & Qualifications Current Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential required. Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, sleep medicine, and respiratory therapy principles. Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments and accurately monitor vital signs during sleep studies. Experience with polysomnography equipment setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and data acquisition. Familiarity with AASM scoring guidelines, sleep study protocols, and sleep disorder diagnostics. Strong communication, patient care, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and clinical staff. Required to work a minimum of one (1) 12-hour shift per two-week pay period. Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour Work Location: In person
