Venezia Bulk Transport Inc., based in Pottstown, PA, is a specialized niche bulk carrier operating a fleet of over 700 trucks and 1,800 trailers. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Safety & Training Coordinator to support compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and company safety initiatives. This role is responsible for helping ensure drivers remain compliant with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, electronic logging device (ELD) requirements, vehicle inspection reporting, and other applicable regulatory standards. The Safety & Training Coordinator provides training, auditing, and reporting support while serving as a key resource for drivers and operations personnel on safety, compliance, and regulatory matters. What You’ll Do Maintain driver training and compliance records. Conduct driver road tests and evaluate driving performance against company safety standards. Monitor and audit electronic logging devices (ELDs), Hours of Service (HOS) compliance, and applicable regulatory requirements. Review, investigate, and address compliance violations through coaching, corrective action, and follow-up activities. Administer and monitor the electronic Vehicle Inspection Report (eVIR) system and analyze driver/vehicle inspection results. Conduct tractor assignment inspections to ensure equipment meets company safety standards prior to driver assignment. Prepare, analyze, and distribute safety and compliance reports, including HOS violations, telematics data, inspection trends, and other key performance metrics. Conduct periodic site visits to observe driver behavior, assess procedural compliance, and evaluate safety conditions. Administer cold weather HOS waivers and other regulatory exemptions as applicable. Serve as a resource to drivers and management by communicating compliance requirements, regulatory updates, and safety best practices. Support safety audits, investigations, training initiatives, and other departmental projects as needed. What We’re Looking For High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years transportation, safety, compliance, or related administrative experience preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, Hours of Service regulations preferred. Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management systems is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coach and train drivers effectively. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Ability to perform vehicle inspections, including climbing in and out of tractors and trailers as needed. Occasional travel may be required to support company operations and safety initiatives.
