Posting Number 2016417T Department Summary This position is responsible for the management of the Department of Athletics internal operational areas for all 16 sport programs. Responsibilities include the oversight of short and long-term initiatives related to operations, liaison roles with campus and external constituents, and oversight of the sport operations team. This position serves as a member of the Athletics Leadership Team reporting to the Associate Athletic Director. 1. Lead the sport operations unit to include oversight of game management for Ohio Athletics sport programs. 2. Develop and implement comprehensive procedures and policies for sport program operations that align with Ohio University, NCAA, and Mid-American Conference bylaws and regulations. 3. Manage sports season schedules to include resolving scheduling and operational challenges. Collaborate with Head Coaches and Sport Administrators to deliver measurable outcomes. 4. Administer high-level logistical functions and internal communication related to activities, special events, and other projects that require multiple constituents. 5. Plan, manage, and allocate financial budgets for sport operations and game-day expenses. Position Profile Plans and manages administrative aspects of Ohio University Athletics operations, including program administration, human resources, financial operations, events, and compliance. Administers and manages Athletics budget and fiscal operations. Responsible for the development of department policies and procedures. Accountable for the achievement of the unit’s operational objectives, improving performance and addressing resource needs. Supervisory Responsibilities Manages a medium-sized team. Directly oversees at least 2.0 FTE employees or one or more supervisors. Has authority to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, manage performance, discharge, assign duties, reward, and discipline employees. Fiscal Responsibilities Responsible for managing team or department budgets and resources. Problem Solving Addresses departmental or cross-team issues, devises long-term solutions. Independence of Action Acts independently, with consultation with senior management. Communication and Collaboration Facilitates communication among team and higher-level leadership, builds relationships across University. Physical Requirements This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs. Minimum Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5 or more years of related professional experience, and 3 or more years of supervisory experience, or equivalent education and experience.
