Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across all plant equipment and facilities in an industrial manufacturing environment. The position is available on 2nd shift (2:00pm – 10:00pm) and 3rd shift (10:00pm – 6:00am), with every other weekend worked on 1st shift. Candidates need to be open to weekend work and comfortable supporting production in a fast-paced, corrugated and packaging-type facility.
Responsibilities
• Perform a wide range of electro-mechanical maintenance tasks to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and replace mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on all plant equipment and facility assets.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics to identify issues and determine appropriate repair methods for complex industrial equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair PLC-based control systems, including platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, including high-level electrical work up to 480V and 3-phase power, to ensure safe and reliable operation of machinery.
• Conduct mechanical maintenance on industrial equipment, including boxing and corrugated machinery, to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities to extend equipment life, improve reliability, and reduce waste.
• Use maintenance expertise to increase overall plant productivity, decrease downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Respond to machine downtime events with a strong sense of urgency, quickly identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs.
• At least 5–7 years of experience successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Proven experience repairing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems in an industrial environment.
• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Preferred experience working in a corrugated or boxing equipment facility, though not required.
• Experience with electro-mechanical maintenance on corrugated and packaging equipment is a plus.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading to support troubleshooting and fabrication tasks.
• Welding and basic fabrication skills to repair or modify equipment components.

Work Environment
The role is based in a warehouse-type industrial manufacturing environment that can be warmer during the summer months, while conditions in winter remain comfortable. Work is performed on 2nd shift (2:00pm – 10:00pm) and 3rd shift (10:00pm – 6:00am), with every other weekend scheduled on 1st shift, so candidates should be open to rotating weekend work. The facility houses modern machinery and equipment, supported by significant recent investment in new technology and building expansion. Employees use a range of industrial maintenance tools and equipment, which are provided by the employer, and work closely with electrical systems up to 480V, 3-phase power, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and mechanical components. The environment emphasizes safety, with strict adherence to lock-out tag-out procedures and a strong focus on maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Reading, PA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
