NPI (New Product Introduction) Technician
Purpose
We have an immediate opening for a New Product Introduction (NPI) Technician . This role supports the Engineering Team in the design, build, testing, and documentation of new electrical industrial control and low‑voltage power distribution panels. The NPI Technician plays a key role in developing prototype assemblies and ensuring new designs transition smoothly into production.

Essential Job Functions:
• Build prototype electrical control panels and low‑voltage power distribution assemblies using engineering drawings, schematics, and supporting documentation.
• Assist in the creation, refinement, and maintenance of build documentation (work instructions, assembly guides, prototype notes).
• Create or revise harness drawings, wire lists, and cable documentation to support prototype build requirements.
• Lead or support document corrections to ensure engineering documentation accurately reflects the physical build.
• Troubleshoot and resolve real‑time build issues to maintain project timelines and ensure prototype functionality.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering to identify root causes, propose solutions, and improve manufacturability of new designs.
• Communicate build status, issues, risks, and progress updates to the NPI Supervisor and Engineering Team.
• Participate in design reviews, build reviews, and cross‑functional meetings to provide hands‑on technical feedback.
• Use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to generate, revise, and organize manufacturing documentation.
• Perform verification and quality checks on NPI panels to ensure compliance with documentation, design intent, and internal standards.
• Manage job‑specific inventory, ensuring all components are available, tracked, and accounted for during each build.
• Support the transition of prototypes into production by sharing lessons learned, build insights, and documentation updates with the manufacturing team.
• Follow all safety, quality, and UL508A/industry standards during prototype builds and documentation activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline build processes, documentation clarity, and overall NPI workflow efficiency.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience using SyteLine (or similar ERP systems) and SOLIDWORKS PDM for document access and revision control.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

• Detail‑oriented with a focus on quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience (Preferred but Not Required):
• Hands‑on experience building electrical control panels, wiring assemblies, or industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with UL508A standards or industrial control panel best practices.
• Prior experience in an NPI, R&D, or prototype‑focused environment.
Essential Physical Abilities:
• Ability to perform hands‑on assembly work including reaching, bending, twisting, lifting, and repetitive motions.
• Adept finger dexterity for wiring, component installation, and handling small parts.
• Ability to grasp, feel, and manipulate tools, wires, and components with precision.
• Sufficient hearing, speech, and visual acuity to communicate effectively and read technical documentation.
• Ability to alternate between sitting and standing throughout the workday.
• Capability to perform standard office tasks, including computer use for documentation and communication.
