ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Commercial Lender role at Magnolia State Bank is a full-time, on-site position based in Athens, GA. An effective Commercial Lender is responsible for providing an excellent experience for customers and teammates in various fields, such as operations, sales, relationship management, service, leadership, and development. These qualities promote market income through growth in loans, deposits, and other bank products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
•   Manage personnel activities, which may include hiring, training, personnel reviews, taking corrective action, and rewarding employees as is appropriate; Ensure a culture of accountability that includes coaching and development of a high-performing team.
•   Direct and control banking activities of branches in designated market area in conjunction with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
•   Set an example for Bank values and behaviors for all employees to follow
•   Implement bank strategies and objectives consistent with and in support of associated Bank goals and objectives for growth, net income, expense management, and financial performance.
•   Establish and manage a business development process to maintain current customer base and expand market share.
•   Engage in business development and community involvement activities to enhance public awareness of the bank and seek new business.
•   Achieve strong financial performance through disciplined management of credit quality through pricing, collection, and maintenance.
•   Originate commercial loans, commercial deposits, and consumer-related products.
•   Ensure regional branches are in compliance with established federal, state, and bank policies and procedures.
•   Assure audit compliance and procedure quality control and initiate corrective actions for violation.
QUALIFICATIONS
•   Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
•   5 years of experience in bank service, sales, and operations.
•   Extensive understanding of bank operation procedures, policies, products, and services.
•   Developed leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
•   Sales proficiency, including developing and maintaining strong client relationships and identifying business growth opportunities.
•   Ability to travel, if necessary.
•   Proven skills in Commercial Lending, with the ability to structure and manage loans as well as oversee and optimize diverse client portfolios.
