POSITION TITLE: Certified School Nurse- Hereford Elementary School
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Assistant Superintendent
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-Time Professional employee for 190 school days (member of Collective Bargaining Unit)
QUALIFICATIONS:
•
Valid PDE School Nurse Certification and active Registered Nurse License
• Experience as a Certified School Nurse is preferred.
•
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.
•
Must have good organizational skills, maintain confidentiality and be flexible.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Act as case manager in writing and implimenting Individualized Health Plans (IHPs).
• Provide oversight of Staff Nurses at the Elementary level.
• Dispense and monitor medications administered during the school day.
• Provide appropriate, necessary health care to allow students the least restrictive learning environment possible.
• Provide emergency first aid to students and staff.
• Conduct mandated health screenings, health testing, and examinations; recommend appropriate action as needed. Issue reports and correspondence as mandated.
• Facilitate operation of health room including ordering supplies, compilation and maintenance of accurate health records maintaining, preparing and submitting reports

Attend District training sessions, field trips, as needed/required.
• Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and/or Assistant Superintendent
