Position Summary
The OR Circulator RN is responsible for coordinating and delivering nursing care throughout the perioperative process. This role serves as the patient's advocate in the operating room while collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other clinical staff to ensure safe and efficient surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
• Perform preoperative patient assessments and verify surgical readiness
• Provide intraoperative nursing care as the circulating nurse
• Maintain accurate documentation throughout surgical procedures
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards
• Coordinate patient care with the surgical team before, during, and after procedures
• Assist with room setup, turnover, and supply management
• Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changing conditions
• Support a positive patient and family experience
Qualifications
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Operating Room nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced surgical environment
