Mechanical Design Engineer Pay: $75,000 - $90,000 Morgantown, PA Monday–Friday | Days Industrial Equipment Manufacturing We are working with a leading custom equipment manufacturer that is looking to add an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer . This position offers the opportunity to support the evaluation, repair, and redesign of machinery equipment while working closely with manufacturing, assembly, sales, and engineering teams. The role combines hands-on equipment experience with mechanical design and project execution. Key Responsibilities as a Mechanical Design Engineer: Evaluate and inspect used machine equipment and establish repair strategies Participate in equipment disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly activities Measure bearing fits, interference fits, tapered fits, and other critical dimensions Reverse engineer components and develop repair recommendations Create repair proposals, project budgets, and schedules with customers Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and design layouts using SolidWorks Create shop travelers and Bills of Materials for production and purchasing Provide technical support to manufacturing throughout the build and repair process Monitor project performance related to quality, budget, and schedule Collaborate with customers and internal departments to ensure successful project execution Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements Required Skills & Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience with industrial mechanical equipment in design, quality, or assembly Proficiency with SolidWorks Understanding of AWS welding symbols and their application Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Experience creating detailed drawings and design layouts Ability to create Bills of Materials and specifications for purchased components Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Hands-on mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes Education & Experience: Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred Equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of relevant experience considered Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation How To Apply Contact: Ryan Balsano 773-747-7676 or ryan.balsano@axionrecruitment.com Job Ref: 2764 If you would like to find out more, simply click apply.
