This role executes annealing, bonding, and stacking operations in accordance with established procedures, work instructions, and recipes while operating standard production equipment and control panels under routine or general supervision.The position is responsible for producing magnetic stacks that meet documented dimensional and magnetic specifications, escalating abnormalities or deviations to senior technicians or engineering as required. This role emphasizes safety, quality, consistency, and technical skill development while contributing to the reliable production of high-value products.Primary Responsibilities:Perform annealing, bonding, and stacking operations following established procedures and recipesOperate standard production equipment, control panels, and automated systemsProduce magnetic stacks that meet defined dimensional and magnetic specificationsMonitor production processes and identify abnormalities or deviationsEscalate process, quality, or equipment issues to senior technicians, engineering, or supervisionUse measurement and inspection tools (e.g., optical comparators, basic CMM functions, magnetic test equipment) as directedCollect and document production and inspection data in accordance with quality requirementsSupport continuous improvement activities through data collection, feedback, and implementation of directed changesMaintain compliance with safety, quality, and operational standardsPerform additional duties and special projects as assignedDemonstrates developing working knowledge and technical skills within assigned manufacturing or laboratory processesApplies foundational scientific and technical principles to routine production activitiesOperates standard metallurgical and/or laboratory equipment in accordance with documented instructionsServes as a reliable team member, seeking guidance when addressing unfamiliar or complex situationsBuilds technical proficiency through hands-on experience and adherence to established methodsAdditional Requirements:High school diploma or GED requiredAssociate degree in a technology-related field preferredTwo to four years of related technical or manufacturing experiencePerform annealing, bonding, and stacking processes for magnetic laminations in accordance with established proceduresUnderstand how key process variables affect product qualityOperate control panels and automated systems to execute defined production recipesVerify product dimensions and magnetic properties using approved measurement equipmentAssist in troubleshooting process issues under direction of senior technicians, engineering, or qualityApply established techniques to accommodate material differences (e.g., Hiperco vs. electrical steel)Support process development and optimization initiatives through hands-on production support and data collectionFollow established schedules and direction in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentDemonstrate basic cross-functional awareness of design, prototyping, and production requirementsShare knowledge, assist peers, and learn from senior techniciansComplete required documentation to support traceability and complianceParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives as directedDemonstrate commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous learningCommunicate effectively with team members and supervision regarding requirements, status, and concernsProvide suggestions for improving processes and work instructions based on hands-on experienceCarpenter Technology Company offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including life, medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, disability coverage, 401k with company contributions as well as many other options to employees.Carpenter Technology Corporation’s policy is to fully and effectively maintain a program of equal employment opportunity and nondiscrimination for all employees, to employ affirmative action for all protected classes, and to recruit and develop the best qualified persons available regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, political affiliation or any other characteristic protected by law.
