Position Title: Process Quality Technician IV Job Summary:The Process Quality Technician IV plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and process effectiveness within the manufacturing environment. This position supports production by managing non-conforming material, leading quality audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives through root cause analysis and data-driven decision-making.This role combines advanced metrology, laboratory testing, and process quality expertise with strong cross-functional collaboration to enhance production performance and ensure compliance with quality standards such as AS9100.Primary Responsibilities:Facilitate movement of materials into and out of the Met LabManage disposition of non-conforming material, including repair, inspection, and release to productionLead internal quality audits for existing and new production processesConduct root cause analysis on non-conforming products and implement corrective actionsRecommend and lead process improvement initiatives based on data and quality findingsMonitor daily production activity and engage with technicians to improve process health and quality outcomesDocument and standardize process improvements to ensure consistency and compliancePrepare samples and perform metrology and laboratory testing (mechanical, dimensional, magnetic)Operate specialized equipment (e.g., hardness, tensile, resistivity testing, CMM as needed)Collect, record, and analyze test data for product evaluationPrepare customer-required dimensional reports in compliance with AS9100 or similar standardsSupport product development efforts related to measurement methods and dimensional requirementsParticipate in site-wide improvement initiatives and special projectsAdditional Requirements:High School diploma requiredMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quality, manufacturing, or laboratory environmentsExperience with metrology and laboratory equipment (CMM preferred)Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management systemsStrong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze complex and unique production issuesAbility to lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actionsAbility to perform complex technical assignments with minimal supervisionCommitment to maintaining a safe work environment and supporting environmental initiativesAnticipates customer needs and drives proactive quality improvementsDemonstrates ownership of process quality and production outcomesBuilds strong relationships between Quality and Production teamsCarpenter Technology Company offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including life, medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, disability coverage, 401k with company contributions as well as many other options to employees.Carpenter Technology Corporation’s policy is to fully and effectively maintain a program of equal employment opportunity and nondiscrimination for all employees, to employ affirmative action for all protected classes, and to recruit and develop the best qualified persons available regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, political affiliation or any other characteristic protected by law.
