Assistant Vice President - Manufacturing
In partnership with our client, a global leader in metals manufacturing, we are seeking an Assistant Vice President – Manufacturing for their Reading, PA area operations. This executive leadership role will serve as the second-in-command to the Vice President of Manufacturing, acting as a strategic partner in leading manufacturing operations across multiple business units.
The Assistant Vice President will be responsible for driving operational excellence and integrated performance across the organization while ensuring alignment in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and financial objectives within a large-scale industrial manufacturing environment. This individual will work closely with senior leadership to develop and execute operational strategies, optimize performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This is a direct-hire opportunity with our client.
Organizational Scope
• Second-in-command for manufacturing operations
• Direct oversight of three General Managers
• Leadership across 1,000+ employee manufacturing organization
• Cross-functional integration with finance, HR, engineering, and operations
Key Responsibilities
• Execute manufacturing strategy in partnership with VP Manufacturing
• Lead performance across GM-led business units
• Ability to supervise multiple General Managers in various business units
• Drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity
• Support financial planning, forecasting, and cost management
• Lead Lean transformation and continuous improvement
• Oversee capital projects and operational initiatives
• Develop leadership bench strength and succession plans
• Partner with executive leadership and stakeholders
Education and/or Training:
• BA/BS degree is required, advanced degree preferred.
Relevant Work Experience:
• 12+ years manufacturing leadership experience
• Experience in large-scale industrial environments
• Proven leadership of multi-unit or complex operations
• Experience managing senior leaders
